Business Class
Business fares include 12 kg cabin baggage (up to 2 pieces) and 35 kg (Value), 40 kg (Comfort) or 50 kg (Deluxe) checked baggage on most routes, or 2 x 32 kg to and from the USA and Canada. Business Deluxe allows free changes and cancellations.
Etihad baggage rules
- Economy cabin bag: one bag up to 7 kg, max 56 x 36 x 23 cm.
- Business and First cabin bags: two bags with a combined weight of up to 12 kg, plus a small bag up to 5 kg.
- Basic fare: no checked baggage included; buy it in advance, as it costs more at the airport.
- Partner flights: the allowance can differ on flights operated by partner airlines; your ticket shows the allowance for each flight.
Pets in the cabin: only on Etihad in the UAE
Etihad is the only UAE airline that lets small cats and dogs fly in the cabin with you, which matters for families relocating with a pet.
- Price: from USD 399 per flight in Economy; in Business you buy an extra seat plus USD 399.
- Size: pet and carrier together up to 8 kg; carrier max 40 x 40 x 22 cm under the seat.
- Age: pets must be at least 16 weeks old, and the owner at least 18.
- Booking: submit the pet booking form and documents at least 7 days before the flight.
- Falcons and service dogs: falcons are permitted on board Etihad flights; trained service dogs travel free.

Names on your Etihad ticket
Your name on the ticket must match your passport exactly. We check every name and passport before we issue, because a wrong name can mean a correction fee or denied boarding.
Coming back to the UAE with only one name in your passport? Under UAE National Advance Information Centre (NAIC) rules, a traveller whose passport shows only one name, with no other names on any page, is not allowed to enter the UAE, unless for example their UAE visa or Emirates ID shows additional names.
