About Jumeirah Mosque: History and Architecture

Construction of Jumeirah Mosque began in 1975, and the mosque opened in 1979. Its design draws on the Fatimid architecture of medieval Cairo, with smooth light stone walls, detailed carvings, two slender minarets and a graceful central dome. At night, soft lighting makes the facade glow, which is why it is one of the most photographed buildings in Dubai.

Jumeirah Mosque is still an active place of worship for the local community.   • Registration at the Majlis: check in at the traditional sitting area next to the mosque, where staff help you with the dress code if needed.
