UAE Visit Visa for Nepali Citizens: Fees, Documents & Steps

Do Nepali Citizens Need a Visa for the UAE?

Yes. Nepali passport holders need a visa to enter the UAE and must apply in advance through an authorized visa processing center or a travel agency such as White Sky Travel. Nepal is not currently on the list of nationalities eligible for UAE visa on arrival, so travellers should not expect to receive one at the airport without a pre-approved visa. This applies whether you plan to visit Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or any other emirate.

A single entry visa is the right choice if you plan one continuous stay. A multiple entry visa is worth the extra cost if your trip includes leaving and re-entering the UAE, since a single entry visa becomes invalid the moment you exit.

Documents Required for Nepali Citizens

• Nepali passport valid for at least six months from your date of entry, with at least two blank pages
• A recent passport size photograph with a white background
• Police clearance certificate, issued by Nepali authorities. This confirms you have no criminal record and is a required document for Nepali applicants applying for a UAE visa
• Hotel booking confirmation or accommodation proof, such as an invitation letter if staying with family
• A confirmed return or onward flight ticket
• A birth certificate for applicants travelling as minors

About the bank statement. Unlike many other nationalities, Nepali applicants may sometimes be asked for a 6 month bank statement alongside the standard documents. We will confirm whether this applies to your specific application when you get in touch. This is a Nepal specific consideration, not a universal UAE visa requirement.

Proof of funds on arrival. UAE immigration officers can also, at their discretion, ask arriving travellers to show proof of funds on arrival, so it is worth carrying a recent bank statement or equivalent with you when you travel, even beyond what is submitted with the visa application.

For family visits

• Proof of relationship, such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate, if visiting a family member who is a UAE resident
• The sponsoring family member’s Emirates ID and residence details

How to Apply for a UAE Visa from Nepal

UAE Visa Processing Time

Most standard tourist visa applications for Nepali citizens are processed within 3 to 5 working days once all documents are submitted correctly. Express processing is available for an additional fee if your travel date is close. Incomplete documentation, an unclear photograph or mismatched passport details are the most common reasons an application takes longer than expected.

Visa Extension Options

A 30 day tourist visa can be extended three times, in 30 day increments, without needing to exit the UAE. A 60 day tourist visa can be extended twice, in 30 day increments, also without needing to exit. To extend, you will need your original passport, a passport size photo, proof of accommodation and your return ticket. We can handle the extension application on your behalf so you do not need to visit an immigration office in person.

Once you have used up the maximum number of extensions for your visa type, you will need to exit the UAE and re enter on a fresh visa. This can be done through an airport to airport visa change, commonly called A2A, or by taking one of the bus routes out of the country and back in, before applying again.
