Burj Al Arab Dubai: Suites, Age Rule, Dining and Pay Monthly

Quick answer: Burj Al Arab Jumeirah is closed for an 18 month restoration and is expected to welcome guests again in October 2027, according to Visit Dubai. When it reopens, every room will still be a suite on its own island off Jumeirah Beach. Message us now and we will alert you when bookings open, with Tabby or Tamara monthly plans for UAE residents.

Status, November 2026: Burj Al Arab closed in April 2026 for its first full restoration since 1999, led by French designer Tristan Auer. Reopening is planned for around October 2027. Until then, we can book Jumeirah Beach Hotel or Jumeirah Al Naseem next door, both with views of the sail.

Burj Al Arab Jumeirah stands on its own island off Jumeirah Beach, and every room is a suite. Arrival can be by chauffeur driven Rolls-Royce or helicopter, and the hotel scores 9.3 out of 10 on Booking.com. For most people it is a once in a lifetime stay, which is exactly why a monthly plan helps. Ask us for suite rates.

Rules that surprise people

  • The main guest must be at least 21 to check in, not 18.
  • Check in is from 4 PM; check out by 12 PM.
  • Every room is a suite with floor to ceiling sea views.
  • Pets are not allowed.

The terrace, beach and spa

The Terrace sits on the sea with two pools, 32 private cabanas, a restaurant and a bar. Guests can use the Jumeirah Beach Hotel private beach next door and the Summersalt Beach Club, shared only with Jumeirah Al Naseem guests. Talise Spa has separate ladies’ and men’s areas with indoor infinity pools, saunas, steam rooms and plunge pools.

Dining high above the sea

Al Muntaha is the signature fine dining restaurant for contemporary European food, and the Sky View Bar, around 200 metres above sea level, is famous for afternoon tea. Book both well ahead, even as a hotel guest.

Visiting without staying

Not ready for a night? Many people book afternoon tea or a meal instead, which is the usual way to see inside. We can arrange a booking and still split the cost if the total qualifies.

Paying for a Burj Al Arab stay

The quoted room price is before the AED 20 per night Tourism Dirham and the standard Dubai hotel taxes; our quote shows the full total. With a suite night often several thousand dirhams, a 12 month Tabby plan or a bank card plan makes the cost manageable: a night at AED 9,000 all in is about AED 750 a month over 12 months. See our pay later hotels guide. Next door, our Jumeirah Beach Hotel guide covers the wave shaped resort that shares the beach.
